Cutie Combination: More Than Meets the Eye
Babies and puppies prove it’s really a small world after all.
For years, the cuties have been coupled for all kinds of marketing campaigns. There’s the Angel Soft baby and the Cottonelle puppy. Budweiser hit a major homerun with this year’s “Puppy Love” commercial. And the HP baby gets me to laugh every single time I see it!
What’s the magic about babies and puppies in marketing?
In her blog article, Debbie LaChusa says, “I think the attraction with babies and puppies is what they represent: purity. They are pure happiness all wrapped up in a cute package.” She also offered a challenge to be inspired by the simple lives babies and puppies lead, adopting some of these qualities.
How would your life be different if you:
- Went with the flow more
- Stopped rushing around all the time
- Loved unconditionally
- Showed gratitude for everything you have instead of wanting more
- Laughed more
- Let others take care of you on occasion
- Gave yourself permission to take a nap during the day
- Played more
Now, with the emergence and popularity of social media platforms, countless photos of puppies and babies are showing up all over the online world.
Read this story. It’s about a photographer who took a picture of her son and rescue dog. And through the heartstrings pulled because of puppies and babies … and the rapid-fire networking of social media … connections were made between two women on opposite sides of the world.
“In this case, the photos proved what a small world we live in, and how interconnected our lives have become.”
A photo of a puppy and a baby brought two lives together. So, maybe they ARE just cute to look at, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing either. According to a study in Japan, “viewing cute images makes participants behave more deliberately and perform tasks with greater time and care.”
Take a moment. Look at some photos of babies and puppies. And maybe add a smile to your day.Edit this post
